The Christmas party survival guide

We all know that December is the party season of the year. When the champagne is flowing and you're dancing the night away, it's easy to get carried away and forget about taking care of yourself. Fortunately, Online Pharmacy UK is here to act as your guardian angel this festive season. Whilst you focus on enjoying yourselves, we'll focus on taking care of you! Here's our guide on how to enjoy the Christmas celebrations and parties.

The pampering process

Christmas is the best time to pull out all of the stops and go for that extra glam look. Fake your way to a subtle glow with carefully applied fake tan. It's best to start the tanning process a few days before your Christmas party incase of any tanning disasters. Start the week off by exfoliating your skin to create a smooth base for your tan. As the week goes on, apply your fake tan until you feel bronzed enough. By gradually applying your tan over a period of a few days, you'll be able to ensure that your tan looks as natural as possible. Now all that's left to do is throw on your best festive frock, spray on some perfume and you're good to go. If you're looking for a particularly luxe fragrance, we recommend Yves Saint Laurent's Black Opium.

The karaoke queen

If you're spending your Christmas party at a karaoke booth then Vocalzone will make sure you hit those famous notes. Unfortunately though, there's nothing we can do to cure the shame of serenading your boss with "All I Want For Christmas is You". You're on your own with that one.

The Achilles heel (sole) of the Dancing Queen

Girls, if you're going to be dancing the night away at a Christmas party, then these gel cushions will be a lifesaver for your feet. It's also worth popping some of these fold up ballerina pumps into your bag for the end of the night too. They might not look very chic on your feet, but we're all familiar with that blissful feeling of taking your stilettos off after a big night out!

The mistletoe moment

Christmas is a prime time for love to be in the air. If you're hoping for an encounter under the mistletoe with a certain somebody, then this Nivea Sweet Lips Gift Set will ensure that your lips are primed and ready for any planned or unplanned encounters!

The morning after

If you emerge from bed feeling slightly worse for wear the next morning, then be sure to drink plenty of water in order to rehydrate yourself. The effects of dehydration will be most visible in the skin. Spend the morning pampering yourself with a hydrating face mask; you deserve it. If you feel that awful, then consider having a lie in with your hot water bottle. We won't judge you.

You can also take some painkillers, which should help with any sore heads. Milk Thistle is known as nature's hangover cure so it's worth keeping some of these little saviours handy too.

We all know that December is a time of indulgence, so make sure you have plenty of fun. By all means, treat yourself to some festive tavourites such as mince pies and Christmas cocktails, but make sure you take care of yourself in the process and don't overindulge. If you feel like you've indulged a little too much this festive season, then speak to our pharmacist to see how we can help.
