Win a Rugby World Cup inspired gift pack

As the Rugby World Cup kicks off, we're pleased to announce our latest competition. Rugby is an exciting sport but, as with any sport, it can have a significant impact on our joints. We all want our joints to last as long as possible, so it's important that we take care of them and minimise any wear and tear. That's why we're giving you the chance to win a pack of Seven Seas Joint Care Supplex, along with a Baylis and Harding Rugby Wash Bag.

The competition

This competition will run on both Twitter and Facebook, which means that we will be selecting two lucky winners so your chance of winning is already doubled!

The competition will run from Wednesday 9th September until 12pm (GMT) Wednesday 30th September. To enter on Facebook, you need to 'like' Online Pharmacy UK's Facebook page, and 'like' the competition post. To enter on Twitter, you'll simply need to follow our Twitter account and retweet one of the competition tweets. The winners will both be announced after the competition closes.

The prize

You'll be in with a chance to win the following:

- Baylis and Harding Rugby Wash Bag (includes 100ml Bottle Hair & Body Wash, 100ml Bottle Aftershave Balm, 50ml Tube Face Wash and 50ml Tube Shower Gel.)

- Seven Seas Joint Care Supplex (60 capsules)

As this competition runs on both Facebook and Twitter, we're pleased to invite entrants to enter on both platforms to double the chances of winning. However, please note that there will be a limit of one prize per person. For further details, see our full terms and conditions.

Why are joint care supplements so important?

Joint care supplements can support muscle function and help you to stay flexible. In particular, Seven Seas Jointcare Supplex contains essential vitamins that have been scientifically proven to boost flexibility. The Vitamin D and Manganese will help muscles and bones stay flexible, whilst the Vitamin C will boost collagen to improve strength, resilience and provide support to your cartilage and bones, making them the perfect choice of vitamin for any aspiring rugby player.

What else can I do to take care of my joints?

Aside from taking joint care vitamins, there are several things you can do to care for your joints and reduce the general wear and tear to them.

Lose weight

If you are overweight, then this will only increase the pressure on your joints. Just by making a few small changes to your diet, and increasing your physical activity, you'll feel much healthier and benefit from reduced pressure on your joints.

Stop smoking

The benefits of quitting smoking are well known, and research has shown that smoking increases your chances of developing rheumatoid arthritis, which further impacts the damage to your joints. Also, if you already have rheumatoid arthritis, continuing to smoke will make it harder to treat.

Be more active

Rugby might not be your sport of choice, but regular low-impact exercise is good for your overall health and will help to lubricate the joints. It will also ease stiffness and strengthen the muscles that support your joints. Of course, too much exercise can cause joint problems, particularly if it's high impact or if you don't properly stretch your muscles beforehand. Low impact activity such as swimming and water-based sports will take the weight off your joints, meaning that you can exercise the joints without impact.

Good luck to everyone entering our competition and don't forget to come back to see who the lucky winners are! If you need any further information on sports injuries or joint care, then contact a pharmacist today.
